I was so busy texting on my phone that I almost missed her~
Being a merchandiser for Urban Outfitters, you can really tell she knows how to style herself! I was instantly attracted by this look which gave her so much character and attitude: the long hair, unique features, and this fun mismatch between a delicate and light top and skirt with those amazing shoes with a 'heavier' metallic detail.
But when she turned around, I was blown away by her tattoo. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Audrey Kawasaki's work, she's this extremely talented Japanese-American artists who's mastered the art of portraying women's sensuality and innocence.

In the past few years, there has been a growing trend for vintage clothing in the fashion world, and Toronto is definitely following that wave!  With vintage stores such as Pretty FreedomCourage my LoveTimeless ApparelBlack Market69 VintageThe Public ButterHouse of Vintage (and the list goes on) becoming hit shopping spots in town.
While giving  a second chance to old clothes that have had their time is exciting and has a great charm on its own, I believe it also shows the incredible creativity people have in envisioning and creating their own style. It is often those people that I admire most and really capture my attention during my strolls in the streets of Toronto.
And these two students in fine arts are a great example, wearing exclusively vintage pieces, except for the Baggu bag ~ !

~ Vienna Trip ~

Camera: Minolta X-7A with Asahi Super-Takumar 55mm f1.8
Film: Fujicolor 400

So this is the main reason I haven't been posting much the past week~

I have been busy attending a Conference on Tissue Engineering (yes, this is my other and real job) in no other place than the beautiful Vienna!!! How lucky is that! In between attending talks and giving presentations, I managed to capture a few shots and hopefully can give you a sense of how magical this city really is~

Hofburg Centre ~ Historical Library~
This is where the Conference took place! Absolutely breath taking!
Inside one of the Presentation Room, large enough to seat 500 people! (and that wasn't even the largest room they had)

~Historical Library where the Conference Banquet was held~
The details and the scale of those murals is just out of this world!

Inside and View from the tallest tower of St Stephen's Cathedral.
Climbed a total of 364 steps to get to the top! Although exhausting, it was well worth it as you can see~

~Obijou spotted on the streetcar~

I saw Casey Mecija, from the Toronto Band OHBIJOU, last Saturday on the streetcar in Toronto. It’s the second time I see her in the city and every time, I regret being too shy to just go up to her and tell her how much I love her music! If you guys don’t know about them yet, you should really check them out. Their music is fantastic!

I noticed Andrea from across the street~ she looked so relaxed, cigarette in hand, with her ripped baggy jeans and loose tank.  Love the leopard print flats and neon yellow bracelet which added just enough punch to the look. And not to mention the gorgeous tattoo on her forearm!
